Inviting someone to your family
Four ways to send an invite, and what the other person sees when they arrive.

Everyone at home records into the same ledger. An invite is how they get to it.
Sending an invite
On mobileMoreSettingsFamilyOn desktopSettingsFamily
Choose Invite someone. The dialog holds a link and several ways to pass it along — your phone's own share sheet, WhatsApp with the message already written, or the plain link copied to your clipboard.
Reading out the code
Below those sits the invite code itself, a short string you can say aloud. It is there for the person beside you, or on a phone call. They enter it as they sign up.
What the other person sees
They create their own login. Yours is never shared. Once through, they land in your family and see the same ledger you do.
Rotating the code
The code can be replaced. Rotating issues a new one and cancels the old immediately.
Rotate only when you need to
Anyone part-way through joining with the old code is locked out and will need the new one. Rotate when a code has reached somebody it should not have, not as routine housekeeping.
